Case 236

Status at 1st consultation: June, a 69 year-old woman, came to see me about 11 months ago. She was about 100 lbs overweight and she had been diagnosed with acid reflux, diverticulitis, chronic diarrhea, sleep apnea, and hypothyroidism. She had just come off 6 months of antibiotic treatment for bacterial infections that followed a hysterectomy. She had lost a breast to cancer in 1982, and a malignant tumor had appeared in her remaining breast. She had been on three prescription drugs for the past 10 years, including Atenolol prescribed by her cardiologist and Lipator prescribed by her personal physician. Low energy was one of her main complaints.

Assessment and therapy: I immediately began a nutritional program to build up June's depleted reserves, strengthen her immune system and promote healing in her gut. After just one month she reported that she had lost 12 lbs; her diarrhea had stopped along with the acid reflux; sleep had improved, and she had gained both energy and stamina. After six months of ongoing naturopathic work, June's cardiologist said that she was like a different person, and whatever she had done, it had changed her body so much for the better that he decided to take her off Atenolol. After several tests, her personal physician shared the cardiologist's view and took June off Lipator. Long standing problems with her remaining breast, including the cancer, led to a second mastectomy a few months ago, and it revealed that the tumor had actually shrunken. Recovery has been swift.

Current status: June reports that she has lost 40 lbs. since she began working with me. She sleeps well, has no digestive trouble, and enjoys a degree of vitality she has not experienced in years. Her doctors are now considering taking her off the remaining drug as well. She looks forward to more weight loss and increases in energy, stamina and well being.

Case 287

Status at 1st consultation: Allison, a woman 55 years of age, came in complaining of severe gas and bloating after meals, especially in the evening, painful symptoms that lasted into the following day. Elimination of beans and spicy foods had brought no relief. Her energy was low. She had a huge arsenal of nutritional supplements and herbs that she was consuming heavily just to make it through the day, and even so she had to lie down in the afternoon because she couldn't function any more. In addition to these critical concerns, hormonal and sleep problems are secondary concerns that we will address once her primary complaints are resolved.

Assessment and therapy: Electrodermal Screening (EDS) suggested that Allison was feeling the effects of adrenal exhaustion and of dysfunction in all her organs of elimination. I put her on a remedial program to support healthy function in her digestive tract, and all the gas and bloating cleared up promptly. EDS further pointed to an energetic imbalance in her body's internal communication system that we addressed with a homeopathic remedy.  Therapy to improve her cellular uptake of oxygen was followed by improved energy levels and improved readings in her kidneys, liver, and bowels. Allison rapidly regained her vitality, and her stamina now carries her through the day without an afternoon nap.

I advised her to discontinue her self-medication with supplements in order to avoid interference with the therapy I recommended, and when she did, she initially crashed as their supportive effects waned, but after a couple of days continuing the combination of remedies that my testing indicated to be correct for her bioenergetic needs, she rebounded. In her second (and most recent session), I tested the energetic effects of her own inventory of supplements and grouped them into combinations that she can use for specific situations, without upsetting the energetic equilibrium we have established in her body.

Current Status: Now, after one month of naturopathic therapy, Allison says she feels that her progress is "miraculous." All of her acute conditions have cleared up, and we are looking forward to addressing chronic, underlying issues in coming sessions.

Case 325

Status at 1st consultation: Linda, a 47 year-old woman with a high-stress lifestyle, came to see me two months after spending seven days in the hospital. She had been admitted after collapsing with severe abdominal pain caused by two air bubbles that had formed outside her colon, a very dangerous and painful condition. When her doctors recommended immediate surgery to remove the diseased part of her colon, she decided to decline surgery in favor of gut rest and antibiotics.  Her condition had improved somewhat, but she was still experiencing inflammation along with related ailments including numbness in her leg area, mouth ulcers, and skin irruptions. Her goal was to heal without surgery and completely restore health in her digestive tract.

Assessment and therapy: Naturopathic assessment suggested that a program of probiotics and dietary therapy to help relieve the inflammation and promote fast healing would be of greatest immediate benefit, along with stress management coaching.

Current status: Her colon has healed. She is so pleased with the physical and emotional results of our work together, and it is so consistent with her strong spiritual convictions, that she continues seeing me for her own health, and she has referred family members.

Case 234

Status at 1st consultation: Joe, 59 years old, came originally to get a health check-up and address lifelong digestive problems, including bloating and gas. He was convinced that his gall bladder was acting up when he ate certain foods like biscuits and gravy or shrimp. He told me that he had suffered occasional kidney stones, which was very painful. In my opinion, he was also on the verge of obesity (more than 30 pounds overweight).

Assessment and therapy: I began with him by addressing his pH balance in the stomach and small intestine. Electrodermal screening with EAV technology suggested that his large intestine also suffered greatly. Bioenergetic readings on kidney-related acupuncture points were consistent with an inflammatory state, and his hepatic duct readings suggested congestion. I suspected that his gall bladder was not secreting enough bile to fully digest his food. When his digestion normalized, with no more bloating or gas, we concentrated on supporting his kidney and liver function so that his body would stop making stones. I addressed this issue with an EDS customized protocol of nutritional support and homeopathics.

Blood tests enabled him to monitor his cholesterol levels, and as his system came into balance his hormonal picture stabilized. The last step in Joe's healing process was repairing the lining of his large intestine, which despite dietary corrections, pH balancing, enzyme therapy, and a series of colon irrigations, was still registering as degenerative in EAV tests. After two more rounds of a specific homeopathic intestinal lining repair program, we were both satisfied that his digestive tract has healed completely.

Current status: In this process he lost 30 pounds, his digestion seems perfect, and he has not suffered further gall bladder discomfort or kidney stone attacks. His large intestine and kidney health also registered normal in his last test. Joe continues doing well on a maintenance protocol, and will come back for a check-up in 6 months.

Case 221

Status at 1st consultation: Sarah, a 48 year-old, came in with complaints of lots of gas, some hot flashes, short term memory and concentration problems, anxiety, declining libido, and sleep disturbances. She ate very well and had tried previously to correct hormonal imbalances as she entered menopause. She had been diagnosed with high mercury levels and had also undergone a hysterectomy.

Assessment and therapy: EDS testing led me to suspect deficiencies in selenium, B vitamins, enzymes, and chromium. The readings also suggested the presence of inflammation and a severe overgrowth of candida.

I set up a protocol to help her strengthen her immune system, with supplementation to correct deficiencies, support health in her gut, normalize her hormonal readings, and help her immune system fight off candida. All signs of dysfunctional conditions in these areas cleared up with continued therapy including several ONDAMED® sessions

Current status: Sarah sees me for a regular semiannual check-up to keep it that way.

Case 286

Status at 1st consultation: Anna, 63 years old, came in mainly for her knee trouble. They bothered her all the time and because of that she could no longer play tennis, which she loves, nor could she be on her feet all day long. Otherwise, she enjoyed good health.

Assessment and therapy: We worked on feeding her joints and bone to help build them up, and adjusted her diet. I recommended a specific recipe of vitamins and trace minerals for building and maintaining her skeletal health. The process was slow. It takes time for the body to heal connective tissue, but after we added ONDAMED® therapy she regained her ability to go through the day pain free, and by the 3rd visit she was able to resume playing tennis.

Current status: With continuing homeopathic therapy and an occasional session of ONDAMED® skeletal support, she has gotten her life back.

Case 334

Status at 1st consultation: Jane's primary complaint was rosacea, and secondary issues included exhaustion, a urinary tract infection, and the aftermath of a recent case of appendicitis.

Assessment and therapy: With nutritional support for her immune system and her hormonal household, her energy came back, the infection went away and her facial discoloration improved noticeably. We continued addressing her skin issues with some success. EDS testing suggested that she had been greatly affected by herbicide her husband sprayed around the house and garden. She eliminated all contact immediately in her house and garage, and she has greatly improved, although she has not recovered fully from the facial redness, which appears to be aggravated by stress.

Current status: Continuing therapy.
